Vintage 70s Brimaco Cafe Racer Leather Motorcycle Jacket S

This is a very nice quality black leather cafe racer motorcycle jacket made during the 1970s by Brimaco.  Brimaco was the brand name of the British Manufacturing Co. of Canada, a firm that is still highly regarded for the quality that they produced.  This cafe racer jacket has a heavy duty Acme brand metal double zipper down the front and a velcro tab closure at the neck.  It has a narrow stand-up collar and zip-up pockets at either side, all with Acme metal zippers.  The shoulders, upper arms, elbows and bottom back are all protected with quilted padding.  The sleeves have zippers at the ends, a zipper pocket built into either lower sleeve, and there is a zipper at either bottom side.  There is a wind flap behind the metal zipper and a double flap at the back.  The jacket is fully lined in blue nylon.  

Label:  Brimaco Quality Workmanship British Mfg. Co. Ltd. Made in Canada.  Brimaco, also known as British Cycle Leathers, was a Montreal based manufacturer, one of the oldest in North America, having been founded in 1895.  Their designs are distinctive and highly sought after.

Sizing: There is no size label, but it should fit a small size, about a 34/36.  Please note the following measurements of this cafe racer jacket for fit, taking the cut and thickness of the leather into account:

Shoulders:  18” from shoulder seam to shoulder seam

Sleeves: 25 1/2”

Sleeve Inseam:  18”

Chest: 40” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  34” around

Bottom:  36” around

Length:  23 1/2”, measured flat

Condition:  This cafe racer jacket is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odours, the leather has good gloss and this looks to have seen little use and has been very well cared for and stored.

The cafe racer jacket has its origin in early 60s London, where “rockers” used their cafe racer motorcycle, a small powerful bike built for speed rather than comfort, to travel between London cafe hangouts.  The cafe racer jacket bestows an authentic early rocker look upon the wearer even if you don’t own a motorcycle.

This is an excellent quality leather cafe racer jacket made by Brimaco - hard to find in this condition, nice acquisition if it fits!
