This is a vintage 1930s tie that is hand block printed with black outlined squares in light blue and dropped out white on navy blue silk.  The label reads “Welch, Margetson & Co Ltd London England” and the reverse of the label reads “Moorland Foulard All Silk Hand Block Printed”.  A second label is gold printed with “Made in England Expressly for Jess. Applegarth Ltd. Montreal Welch, Margetson & Co. Ltd.”.  This vintage 1930s tie appears clean and ready to wear.  It measures 50” in length and has a width of 4 1/4” at its widest and is unlined.  Welch, Margetson & Co was established in 1832 and specialized in men’s shirts, ties, scarves and braces - they were acquired by Coats Patons in 1963.
