This is a vintage tailcoat made in Germany by Peek & Cloppenburg. This vintage tailcoat is made in a classic form with padded shoulders, no closure, cut away front with six buttons, two buttons at the back and a single button at either cuff. The lapels are peaked and finished in black satin. It is fully lined in black satin fabric. Note that there are no pants included, only the vintage tuxedo tails.
Fabric: Wool worsted
Age: Unsure, maybe 1970s?
Label: Peek & Cloppenburg. Peek & Cloppenburg started in Rotterdam in 1869, moving to Dusseldorf in 1900.
Sizing: The size label reads as a European size 46, which should be equivalent to a US 36. Although this vintage tailcoat should fit a small size, please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 17” across shoulder seam-to-seam
Sleeves: 24” from the shoulder seam
Sleeve Inseam: 16”
Chest: 38” around, taken under the arms with a normal gap, 19” across pit-to-pit
Waist: 36”
Overall length: 43“ at the back, measured flat from the neck seam
Condition: These vintage tuxedo tails are in excellent condition with no wear, tear, soiling, staining or odour.
