This is a very pretty 1950s era crinoline dress made with a top layer of black nylon voile over a copper brown taffeta base.  The nylon voile is decorated with flocking in floral and foliate pattern and also has sparkles applied to it, partly on the pattern and also over the bottom of the voile. The dress is sleeveless and has a V shaped neckline both at the front and back.  The dress was posed with a crinoline underneath - no crinoline is provided, so to get the same 50s full skirt look you would need to own or acquire a crinoline.  The dress does up the back with a metal zipper.

Age: 1950s

Label: Jonathan Logan  Jonathan Logan was founded in 1938 by David Schwartz with Dorris Varnum designing the line.  During the mid-1950s Jeanne Carr took over as designer.

Sizing:  No size is indicated, but this should fit a medium size - please note the following measurements for fit, taking the style of the garment into consideration:

Bust:  37” around

Waist:  29” around

Hips:  52” around, full, meant to fall loosely in drapes supported by a crinoline

Overall length: 44", measured flat from the top of the shoulder straps to the hemline

Condition:  This dress is in very good condition with no wear, tear or odour - it looks like it was maybe worn once for a special occasion and well stored over the years.

This is a wonderful 50s dress - Jonathan Logan produced classic fashion, this is a great addition to a wardrobe!
