This is a vintage portable tube radio made by Philco, their model 411, dating to either 1949 or 1950. The case is in a teal toned green plastic that I think is bakelite, or some other type of old thermoplastic. It has tuning and volume controls at the bottom. It is in very good aesthetic condition and turns on, but it didnt receive any stations. Ive only run it with the AC cord as I dont own the type battery that this requires. There is a half moon opening on the side that I guess is meant for the cord to come out of,. The case is intact with no chips or cracks, except for a hairline and scuff on the station knob, and a scratch on one side, visible in the photo, and a couple of small scuffs on the back, very minor. There's no clear plastic cover over the station indicator, but I don't know if there ever was. Im sure that someone familiar with tube radios should be able to get this going. It measures 7 1/2 by 10 by 4 5/8 and weighs 5 lbs and 6 oz. This is a nice addition to a collection - nice colour and look, great display radio!
