Vintage Japanese Moriage Small Teapot Hot Water Pot Blue Dragonware 2 Cup Capacity

This is a vintage Dragonware hot water pot or small teapot decorated with moriage (raised slip). This has a 2 cup capacity and measures 5 3/4 in height to the top of the dragon head finial. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or pronounced wear - a bit of blue wear in one area (see last close-up photo), very minor. This type of moriage dragonware was produced in Japan from the late 1930s into the 1950s. The bottom of this teapot has a lithophane - an impressed image visible with light behind it, however, I cannot make out what it is supposed to be as it is poorly stamped. It is stamped in red on its underside with Made in Japan.
This is a wonderful small teapot - very decorative.
