Vintage Figural Genie or Swami Trinket Box Ceramic Made in Japan

This is a vintage figural ceramic trinket box made in the form of a swami or a genie holding a treasure chest on his lap. The piece is stamped on its underside with Made in Japan. The piece measures 5 1/2 in height, taken at the back, and 3 3/4 across the trinket box. The swami or genie is wearing rhinestone earrings and a pearl necklace. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks, but there is paint wear to the lid of the box and also to the face and front of the turban. There may have been a rhinestone on his turban but I'm not sure. Despite the wear, this is a wonderful vintage display piece where you can hide your jewels!
