Vintage 1970s Diane Von Furstenberg 2 piece Ensemble Blouse & Skirt Green L 14

$195.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a vintage early-to-mid 1970s 2 piece ensemble made by Diane Von Furstenberg.  The ensemble consists of a blouse and matching skirt.  The blouse is made in a “shirt” style with cuffs and very long pointy collar.  It does up with seven plastic buttons down the front.  The skirt has an elasticized waistband and is cut in a circle form - it does up at the back with a nylon zipper and a hook and loop.  The set is made of cotton and rayon blended jersey.  The fabric is printed in green with a white abstract slash pattern.

Age: 1970s, most likely 1975 / 1976

Label: Diane Von Furstenberg Made in Italy.  This was the first label that Von Furstenberg used, identifiable by the umlaut (two dots) over the “u” in Furstenberg.  Von Furstenberg introduced her iconic wrap dress in 1974 and this would be an early design because of the aforementioned early label and style

Sizing: Size Tg 14 (très grande / tall) is indicated, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Top:

Shoulders: 15” across, shoulder seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 23” long, from shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam: 17” long

Bust: 38” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  35” around

Length:  24” long, measured flat

Skirt:

Waist:  26” to 32”, depending on how stretched the waistband is

Hips:  Full

Overall length: 28"

Hemline:  104” around

Condition: The set is in very good condition with the exception of a missing hook at the waistline of the skirt and a missing pull on the zipper - the zipper still works despite this.  The outfit has been washed, so there is the appearance of some use that one would expect with a washed fabric, but it still is very acceptable.

This is an early example of Furstenberg design, from her classic period....great acquisition for the fashion collector....
