This is a wonderful trilby style fedora hat made during the 1960s under the “Kingsway De Luxe Exclusively With Simpsons-Sears” brand.  Kingsway appears to have been a private label used by Simpsons-Sears during the 50s and 60s.  Simpsons-Sears was formed through a partnership between Simpson’s of Canada and Sears, agreed to in 1952 - the name Simpsons-Sears was dropped in 1971.  The hat, although sold at Simpsons-Sears, looks to be of quite nice quality.  It has a narrow brim, 1 5/8” in width, that can be worn up or down as desired - I posed it up in the first photo, worn back on the head, ska-style, and down, like a fedora, on the rest of the photos.  The crown has a centre crease, and can be pinched at the front.  It is made in a very attractive brownish green fur felt with matching band around the base of the crown as well as feather at the left side.  The green colour is quite muted, subtle and classy.  The lining still retains its original price label of $15,95, so this probably saw little or no use.  The gold foil size tag reads 7 1/8 - it measures 22 3/8” around the sweatband and 7 3/4” by 6 1/2” across the opening.  The crown measures 5” in height.  The hat is in excellent condition except that there is some exposed wire at the back sweatband and a bit of wear to the size tag - why this is like this, I’m unsure, as it looks unused, but may have happened somehow during storage.  This is a very nice quality hat in an attractive colour and finish - sure to be noticed!
