This is a plate that is signed by Andr Horellou for Keraluc Quimper. Keraluc was founded by Victor Lucas in 1946 - Lucas had previously been the technical director at HB Quimper. Lucas employed a number of young regional artists and so Keraluc pottery produced one-of-a-kind pieces that were in high demand., During the 70s, they started producing stoneware and eventually went bankrupt in 1982, and although reopened, closed their doors permanently in 1992. This plate is signed Horellou Keraluc Quimper. Andr Horellou (1943-2011) studied at the Ecole des Beaux-arts de Quimper under Jos Le Corre and began working a Keraluc in 1966, remaining there until 1987. The plate measures 10 1/8 in diameter and is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or wear. This plate would make an attractive wall display or cabinet display piece - a one-of-a-kind piece of art!
