Antique Victorian Hand Tinted Photo of Children in Frame 13.75 x 15.5

This is a wonderful Victorian era hand tinted or hand coloured photograph of two young children. The photo was framed under glass and is still in its original wood frame with silver gilt detailing. The back of the cardboard that the photo is laminated to has the instructions for colouring as well as the price of the work and the clients name. The client was Mrs. C.R. Scofield of Brooklyn & Main St. Sidney, N.Y. The directions read Work W Color Directions No 1 Eyes Gray Hair Light Golden Dress White / Directions No 2 Eyes Dark Gray Hair Light Golden Dress White. The specifications for the frame read Frame 1000 Gilt Price Volume? April 10 Price 450 100 / 350. The frame back cardboard has WR Ruland written in pencil across it. The photo measures 13 3/4 by 15 1/2 while the frame measures 17 3/4 by 19 1/2. Both the frame and the photo are in very good condition. This is quite interesting because of the work instructions and identification of the client on the back, but is also very charming - lovely quality frame and photo, wonderful display piece!
