This is a antique Blue Willow serving bowl made by John Meir & Son. John Meir & Son was active from 1837 until 1897 and was located at the Green Gates works, Tunstall, Staffordshire. The addition of the word “England” under the ribbon mark on the underside dates the piece to the 1890s. This antique Blue Willow serving bowl is fully transfer printed on the interior of the bowl with a blue on white image on each of the four exterior sides. It is made in a rectangular form and measures 10 3/8” by 13 1/4” with a height of 2 3/8” to the exterior edge. It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, scratches, cracks or chips - this displays beautifully and has been very well kept over the last 130 years. This is a rarely seen antique Blue Willow serving bowl - wonderful kitchen or cabinet display!
