Vintage Hmong Paj Ntaub Jacket Reversible Black and Purple

$150.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a vintage Hmong Paj Ntaub jacket.  This vintage Hmong Paj Ntaub jacket is reversible and both sides are decorated with traditional Paj Ntaub needlework.  I believe that the jacket is made of a cotton and bamboo blended fabric, purple on one side and black on the other.  The fabric appears strong and robust. The jacket has a rounded standing collar and closes with five metal ball buttons and cloth loops.  The Hmong are a migratory people, originally from the Yellow River area of China, but spread out throughout Southeast Asia, primarily Viet Nam and Laos. .

Sizing: No size is indicated on this vintage Hmong Paj Ntaub jacket.  The shoulders are narrow and the sleeves relatively short, but the cut of the jacket is boxy, so although the body appears to fit a medium size, due to the shoulders, it is probably a small size,  Please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders:  14 1/2” across from seam to seam

Sleeves:  20 1/2” from the shoulder seam

Sleeve inseam:  15 1/2”

Bust: 41” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 40” around

Overall length: 30“, measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition: This vintage Hmong Paj Ntaub jacket is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, staining or odour.

The work is very intricate on this vintage Hmong Paj Ntaub jacket - sure to be noticed!
