This is a very attractive vintage 1950s swing jacket made in a light grey colour with black patterning and pink and blue flecks.  This 1950s swing jacket is made with a peter pan style collar and a five button closure above the waist.  It is cut with a wide flare through the body to the hemline.  It has a large patch pocket at either side, each decorated with three black plastic buttons matching the buttons at the front. The sleeves are made in an inset quasi batwing mid forearm 3/4 length.  The waist of the jacket can be cinched with the matching sash belt - I’ve posed the jacket both with and without the belt in the photos attached.  The jacket is lined in black fabric.

Age: early 1950s.  This 1950s swing jacket looks like something that Lucille Ball would have worn around the time of the I Love Lucy show.

Fabric:  Looks like a woven wool - note the extreme close-up photo. The fabric has good weight and fall.

Sizing: No size is indicated on this 1950s swing jacket but it should fit a large size - however, please note the narrow shoulders and the loose fitting style of the jacket:

Shoulders: 15” across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam

Sleeves:  21” long from the shoulder seam

Sleeve inseam: 17”

Bust:  50” around taken under the arms - note that the style of the sleeve adds to the circumference

Waist:  52”, but normally cinched with the belt

Hemline: 68” around

Length:  32”, measured flat at the back

Condition: This 1950s swing jacket is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odours.  This looks like it saw little use and was well stored over the years.

This is a great looking 1950s swing jacket - nice fabric and style!
