Vintage 90s Mens Cardigan Sweater Marithe & Francois Girbaud

This is a vintage mens cardigan sweater made by French designers Marithe & Francois Girbaud.  Marithe & Francois Girbaud was founded in 1972, but had their heyday during the 80s and 90s.  This mens cardigan has an interesting design with a four button closure at the left and a zipper closure at the right.  The front overlaps to the right and forms a V shaped neckline that has a high set notched collar.  The sweater has a long silhouette and knit in a vertical ribbing.  It has long sleeves with dropped shoulders.  The cloth that the zipper is attached to is printed in white with a repeating “Marithe Girbaud Francois” and the button have “Girbaud” raised on the centre surface.  The knit is made of 70% acrylic and 30% wool in a very attractive tone of red.

Sizing: Size XL is indicated on this mens cardigan but please rely on the following measurements for fit, noting that the knit can stretch beyond the measurements given:

Sleeves: 40” long from the mid-neck to the cuff edge

Sleeve Inseam: 23” long

Chest: 48” around, taken under the arms, 24” pit-to-pit

Bottom: 42” around, unstretched

Overall length: 32”, measured flat
