On Hold Vintage 1990s Sean John Black Velvet Dinner Jacket Sz M

This is a wonderful vintage Sean John black velvet dinner jacket featuring a debossed ornate paisley style pattern.  This black velvet dinner jacket has fairly wide peaked lapels covered in black satin and a two satin covered button closure.  It has a flapped pocket at either side and a chest pocket.  Labels: The Sean John label is missing, but the lining to this black velvet dinner jacket is embossed with the SJ and crown logos.  Sean John was founded in 1998 by Sean Diddy Combs, the legendary hip hop artist.  The content label reads Made in Canada Union Made Teamsters L-1998 CA 01129.  The CA 01129 is the Canadian Textile Identification number for Peerless Clothing, a Montreal based manufacturer founded in 1919 and specializing in quality suits and contract manufacturing - Peerless would have made this under contract to Sean John.  I assume that the L-1998 is a date code for the Teamsters. Being Canadian made, it’s an early Sean John design as everyone switched to Chinese manufacturers shortly after the turn of the century.

Sizing: There is no size label on this black velvet dinner jacket and although it should fit a medium size (about a US size 40), please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior:

Shoulders: 19 1/2” across shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves: 25” from shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve Inseam: 16” long

Chest: 44” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 44”

Overall length: 32“, measured flat

Condition:  This black velvet dinner jacket is in very good condition - no pronounced wear, tear, staining or odour.
