Vintage Mens Overcoat 60s English Cashmere Wool Blend Size M

This is a vintage mens overcoat made in Canada using a English cashmere and wool blended fabric.  This mens overcoat dates to the 60s due to its style - it has higher set medium width notched lapels, a three button closure single button cuffs, a flapped pocket built into either side and a single 10 1/2” kick vent at the back.  It is fully lined in a black satin fabric. 

Retailer’s label:  A Gold & Sons Montreal. 

Fabric label:  Wool and Cashmere Made in England

Union label:  ACWA - Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America label used between 1962 and 1976

Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this mens overcoat should fit a medium size, please note the following measurements for fit, taking the cut of the coat and thickness of the fabric into account:

Shoulders:  18” from shoulder seam to shoulder seam

Sleeves: 25 1/2” from the shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam:  15 3/4”

Chest: 43” around, taken under the arms - note that sizing is usually 4” less than chest measurement, making this more like a US size 40

Waist:  43” around

Length:  39”

Condition:  This mens overcoat is in excellent condition - the nappe (finish) looks untouched and the pockets are still sewn shut, so this couldn’t have seen much, if any, use.   For some reason, there is a small sewn repair area to the lining just below the retailer’s label (see last close-up photo), really minor.

This is a very clean mens overcoat - nice vintage quality!
