This is a vintage 1960s mini skirt made in Canada under the “Margaret Godfrey for Bagatelle” label - please read about Margaret Godfrey further below.  This 1960s mini skirt is made in a solid medium orangey brown colour in a wraparound construction.  It closes with snaps at the side and is unlined.

Material: Suede leather

Label:  Margaret Godfrey for Bagatelle Made in Canada.  Margaret Godfrey worked in the London fashion industry from 1962 until 1967, when she moved to Montreal, working for Jonathan Logan until hired in 1968 by the newly founded company Bagatelle.  She became a Bagatelle partner in 1969.  Godfrey was heavily influenced by British designer Mary Quant.

Sizing: Size 9 is indicated on this 1960s mini skirt, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Waist: 26” around

Hips:  35”-36” around

Overall length: 14"

Condition: This 1960s mini skirt is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odour - as with most vintage suede there may be light spots or slight, but, in general, this appears to have seen little use and was well stored over the years.

This is a wonderful example of a late 1960s mini skirt - excellent quality, construction and design by an influential Canadian designer!
