This is an enamel brooch made circa 1962 by the Leningrad Jewelry Workshops. The Leningrad Workshops were populated by skilled craftsmen using old world techniques.  The enamel is applied to a brass base and the decoration is rather modernist in conception.  The piece is made in a slightly curved rectangular shape that measures 2 3/8” by 1 1/8”.  It is stamped on its backside with “СДЕЛАНО В СССР ЛЮ2 М  Made in USSR L2 M”.  It is in very good condition with some wear to the finish on the backside, not visible when the brooch is being worn.  Rare to find Soviet era pieces in the West, so a nice addition to a jewelry collection!
