Vintage Smoking Jacket Gold Satin Longevity Brand Hangzhou China Size L XL

This is a vintage smoking jacket featuring a woven pattern of Chinese dragons and dragon medallions in brown against a golden yellow satin background.  It has shawl lapels,  turned cuffs and applied pockets to the left breast and at either side. All trim is in solid brown satin. The robe closes with a matching sash belt and is fully lined in brown satin.    

Age: most likely early 1960s

Labels: Longevity Hangzhou China.  The Hang Zhou Liming Chinese-style Clothes Factory in Hangzhou has been producing clothing since 1897.  The Zhejiang Silk Corp. licenses them to produce the Longevity Brand.  The Chinese were exporting even during the 60s, but, in general, produced better quality then, especially in garments.

Material: No content label, but fabric is, I believe, rayon satin

Sizing: Size “50” is indicated, and although I’m not sure of conversion size, but it appears to be a large to extra large size, probably US size 44/46 - please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders: 20” across, from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves: 24” long form shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve Inseam: 18” long

Chest: 50” around, taken under the arms, approximate, depending on overlap

Waist: 50” around, uncinched, but meant to be cinched with the belt

Overall length: 34"

Condition:  It is in very good condition with no wear, tear or odour - I noticed a light mark on the interior right lapel around the neck, quite minor.  It was recently dry cleaned and is ready to wear.

This is a very rich looking vintage smoking jacket - sure to be noticed!
