Vintage Scabal Pure Cashmere Jacket Short Coat Mens Outerwear Size XL 2X

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a vintage mens pure cashmere short coat or outerwear jacket made by Scabal.  Scabal is known for high end fabrics, producing Vicuna and even fabric enmeshed with diamond chips - more on Scabal under the label section of this description.  The jacket is made in a relaxed style, with wide notched lapels, a six button double breasted front, dropped shoulders, vertical side pockets as well as flapped patch pockets at the lower sides.  The lapel can be buttoned at the right neck to close the neckline,  The coat is fully lined in a pattern printed twill fabric.  There are two inner zippered pockets.  The coat is in a navy blue colour.

Label: Scabal Création Prêt à Porter.  Scabal was founded in 1938 in Brussels, acquiring Barclays of London in 1951 and later Wain Shiell.  They started as a fabrics company but eventually began to produce menswear.  They are known as fabric innovators, the first to produce Super 150s, and to incorporate diamonds, gold and lapis lazuli in their cloth.  A second label reads “Cashmen Pure Cashmere”.

Sizing: The coat is has no size label as it has been cut out, but should fit a size extra large, either XL or 2X.  Please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the relaxed style of the coat and the thickness of the fabric into account as well as whether you may want to wear a suit jacket underneath:

Shoulders:  25” across, from one shoulder/sleeve seam to the other shoulder/sleeve seam - note that the seams “drop” onto the upper arm (dropped shoulder)

Sleeves:  25” from the shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam:  18”

Chest: 54” around

Waist: 50” around

Bottom: 58” around

Length: 47”, measured flat

Condition:  It is in very good condition with no signs of pronounced wear, tear, stains or odours - the only sign of wear is a small tear to the lining at the edge of the inner pocket at the left side, just needs a couple of stitches.

Beautiful quality cashmere fabric went into making this jacket as you would expect from Scabal - pre-owned but very nice!
