This is a vintage silk sweater made in Italy by Salvatore Ferragamo. Ferragamo singlehandedly revolutionized the Italian shoe industry, establishing a workshop in Florence in 1927 after designing shoes in Hollywood for the movie industry. Due to the reputation he made in Hollywood, he was able to establish a large American export business. During the 70s, Ferragamo’s wife and daughter diversified into other fashion lines.
The sweater is made in cardigan style in a navy blue coloured wool. It closes with five rectangular metal buttons, each formed by a pair of Fs. The opening is trimmed with blue 1 3/4” grosgrain ribbon. There are two pockets, one above the other, on the left side of the sweater, each trimmed in grosgrain. The sweater is unlined.

Condition: It is in very good condition but you will note some waviness to the bottom edge - I assume a dry cleaning and pressing will take care of this.
