Vintage Salvatore Ferragamo Jacket Coat Made in Italy Ladies Size L

$145.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a vintage outer jacket or short coat made in Italy by Salvatore Ferragamo.  It is made in a very pretty tone of blue.  It has a wide collar and lapels, loose fitting flared cut, three button closure, a flapped pocket at either side, above the knee length and turned cuffs with faux snake skin finish.  The same faux snake skin is on the underside of the collar, so would be visible if you wear the collar up, and is also lining the interior of the pocket flaps.  The coat is unlined, and lightweight.  I’m unsure of its exact age, but I would guess late 80s or early 1990s.

Label: Salvatore Ferragamo Made in Italy

Material: There is no content label, but this looks like a wool fleece - as mentioned, it is lightweight, so might be polyester, or a wool/poly blend, I’m really unsure.  Whatever it is, Ferragamo would only use quality fabric.

Sizing: No size label, and although this should fit a large size, please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders:  21” across shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam, following the shoulder seam

Sleeves:  23” long from the shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve Inseam:  16”

Bust:  50” around, meant to be loose

Waist: 54” around

Bottom:  62”

Length:  33”

Condition:  It is in very good condition - clean and looks like it saw little use.

Ferragamo singlehandedly revolutionized the Italian shoe industry, establishing a workshop in Florence in 1927 after designing shoes in Hollywood for the movie industry.  Due to the reputation he made in Hollywood, he was able to establish a large American export business.  During the 70s, Ferragamo’s wife and daughter diversified into other fashion lines.

Ferragamo garments are of excellent quality - this is a stylish piece in a pretty colour!
