Vintage Nina Ricci Boutique Paris Jacket Wool Tweed Made in France Size 42
Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing
This is a very nice quality vintage 1970s era jacket sold at the Nina Ricci Boutique in Paris. It is cut in a short style with long, full sleeves that have a small shoulder “puff” and are pleated along the side. The sleeves have barrel cuffs, each with three silver-toned decorative buttons. The jacket has shoulder pads, a decorative flower embroidered on either upper side of the chest and is meant to be worn open - there are three silver-toned decorative buttons at either lower side of the opening. It is fully lined in grey rhodia/bemberg blended fabric.
Age: most likely 1970s, given the label used
Label: “Nina Ricci Boutique Paris Made in France”. Nina Ricci founded her fashion house in 1932 at the age of 50. She retired from designing during the early 1950s and Jules Francois Crahay became chief designer from 1954 until 1963. When Crahay left for Lanvin in 1963, Gerard Pipart became chief designer and remained so until 1998. The House of Ricci has maintained a reputation over the years for high quality classic clothing.
