This is a pre-owned Kenzo skirt suit made in a lovely quality wool and angora blended fabric. The fabric is made with pink and black striping against a charcoal grey background The jacket has peaked lapels, a three button closure, and flares out at the bottom so as to accentuate the natural body silhouette. The skirt is made as a wraparound. I’m a little perplexed as to how this is supposed to be worn exactly - there are two buttons and two long ties, but the waist is asymmetrical when the buttons are done up and I’m not sure of what to do with the ties. I think that the waistband is meant to be turned, but really I don’t know - I’ve attached three photos of the skirt and waist area. Kenzo Takada (b. 1940s) moved to Paris in 1965 after studying fashion and designing in his native Japan for a Tokyo department store. He opened his first boutique in Paris in 1970 and went on to expand his business through the 70s, 80s and into the 90s, selling his label to LVMH in 1999.
