Vintage Kenneth Pirrie Australia Sweater 1970s Pullover Ladies Size L
$95.00
Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing
This is a wonderful vintage sweater made in a pullover style by Kenneth Pirrie of Australia. Pirrie (1934-1999) was an influential Melbourne based designer during the 1960s and 70s. The sweater is knit in red with patterning in teal, yellow, blue, pink and red. It has a crew neckline, dropped shoulders with long sleeves and ribbing along the neckline, the bottom and the cuffs. The sweater is made in a comfortable oversized style.
Age: 1970s, maybe 1980s. It is difficult to date Pirrie as there is a lack of information on the net about him. Stylistically, it looks to me to date to the late 70s / early 80s period.
Label: Kenneth Pirrie Australia.
Material: Acrylic/Wool/Nylon knit, no proportions indicated on the label
Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this should fit a size medium to large, please note the following measurements for fit taking the oversized style of the sweater into account (your body measurements should be smaller, or measure a similar garment that you own):
Sleeves: 33” long from the mid-neck with the cuff unturned / 19 1/2” from the dropped shoulder seam
Sleeve inseam: 18”
Bust: 46” around, unstretched
Waist: 42”
Bottom: 37” around the ribbed area, unstretched
Length: 28 1/2” long, measured flat

This is a fun sweater - wonderful period pattern!
