Vintage Jean Paul Gaultier Halter Dress - 1990s

This is a wonderful printed jersey dress made by Jean-Paul Gaultier under his Jean-Paul Gaultier Femme label from the 1990s.  The dress is made in a fitted full length halter style. It has a leather fan form that connects the top front of the dress to the neck with the aid of a scarf-like piece of fabric in matching colors. The scarf then crosses the upper back and should be tied to a loop that is affixed to either side in order to keep the dress in place.

Material: 100% Viscose with 100% Cotton organdy scarf/neckpiece

Sizing: The size label reads USA 8, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Bust: 17” across the front - as the back is open, it’s difficult to ascertain bust size, but it probably would accommodate a 36” bust, more or less, depending on the adjustment of the scarf tie.

Waist: 27” around not stretched, but this should stretch to snugly fit the waist area - note that the viscose fabric has stretch to it.

Hips: 36” around, unstretched

Overall length: 54”, measured flat

Condition: It is in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains or odours - the only defect is some loose stitching on the right side top seam (see close-up photo), quite minor and easily repaired. Otherwise, this dress looks to have seen very little use and was well stored over the years.

Jean Paul Gaultier’s designs are cutting edge - this print is very strikingly colorful.
