Vintage Dr Who Eleventh Style Jacket Donegal Tweed Sport Coat Matt Smith 44 Tall
Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing
This is a Donegal tweed jacket or sport coat that was made by Moores of Canada, very similar to one worn by Matt Smith in the Dr. Who television series. Originally, Smith wore a Harris Tweed, but this was replaced by a Donegal tweed jacket. He wore his Donegal tweed jacket in The Eleventh Hour, The Beast Below, Vampires Of Venice, Amy’s Choice, The Hungry Earth, Cold Blood, The Lodger, The Pandorica Opens and The Big Bang. This jacket appears to be identical to his except that it is missing elbow patches, which could be easily added, and the colour is more to a greyish tone than a brown. The fabric is made in woven in a number of colours - black and white with touches of brown, which give the jacket an overall impression of being grey with a bit of a brown impression in the daylight. The jacket has a flapped straight pocket at either side and a pocket at the left chest. It has medium width notched lapels and closes with two faux leather plastic buttons at the front. There are three similar smaller buttons at either cuff and the back bottom has a centre vent. The jacket is fully lined in brown satin acetate fabric. It has a pocket built into the interior at either side.

This is a great jacket if you want to re-create a Dr Who look as long as you can get around the slight colour difference - this is more like the black and white television version……
