This is a vintage ladies skirt suit dating to the 1950s and made of a quality tweed wool and silk blend. The tweed is woven with brown and white threads, which give it a lighter brown appearance. The jacket is made in a shorter length with high set rounded shawl lapels. It closes with five covered buttons and has a faux pocket at either upper side, near the lapel, and a small pocket at either lower side. The jacket is fitted at the waist, but flares out at the bottom. It is fully lined in satin rayon fabric and has a matching belt that cinches the waist. The back of the jacket has a small pleat at either side of the centre seam, which aids in defining the waist, and a decorative belt and button at the back neckline. The skirt is made in a below the knee length and does up with a metal zipper and button at the side. It has a pleated flounce applied diagonally to the bottom of the skirt. The skirt is also lined in a satin fabric.
