 This is a wonderful Stetson black homburg styled hat.  The lining is stamped “Stetson Imperial” and the sweatband is gold stamped with “Stetson Imperial”, “Aquanized Stetson” and with the retailer’s name “Hugh Scott Ltd Dominion Square Building Montreal”.  The hat dates to, I believe, the 1950s.  The hat is made of very good quality fur felt.  The foil label on the sweatband states that it is a “3/8” (7 3/8)”.  It measures 23” around the sweatband and 8” by 6 5/8” across the opening.  It is in very good condition - no creases or wear to the exterior and no pronounced wear or staining, except for the plastic guard over the top of the lining, which is yellowed.  You can simply take the plastic out and you will have a perfect top lining.  Of course, the hat would always benefit from a lint brushing.    The original owner’s initials of WM are stamped into the sweatband.  This is a beautiful quality homburg hat - hard to find larger examples like this.
