About the Designer: A most interesting designer born in Milan in 1950. He started out as a freelance illustrator after studying fine art in Milan. He went on to sketch for Versace and then designed for the Italian firm Cadette. He founded his own company, Moonshadow in 1982, followed that up with Moschino Couture in 1983. The Cheap & Chic line came about in 1988. The point he wanted to make with his designs was to shake up the fashion establishment. He made jest of high end fashion in his designs and at the same time wanted to make clothes that were well cut and wearable but with amusing aspects. He died in 1994.
