Vintage 1980s Mani by Giorgio Armani Tuxedo Jacket Size 42

This is a vintage Mani by Giorgio Armani tuxedo jacket or dinner jacket, dating most likely to the 1980s.  The Mani line was introduced in 1981 and phased out during the 1990s, no longer made by 1994.  There are no matching pants, but this could be matched with pants, although you would have to pay attention to the tone of black.  The shoulders of this Giorgio Armani tuxedo jacket are padded, and the jacket has faille (fine grosgrain) covered peaked lapels and a four button double breasted front that closes with only one of the buttons - the buttons are also faille covered.  There is a stitched closed jetted pocket at either side and a pocket at the left chest.  The jacket is fully lined in black satin fabric.

Fabric: 100% virgin wool.  Lining is 100% viscose rayon

Sizing: Size 42 regular is indicated, and although this Giorgio Armani tuxedo jacket should fit a large size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, keeping the 80s oversized silhouette in mind:

Shoulders: 20” across shoulder seam-to-seam 

Sleeves: 26” from shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam: 18 1/4” long

Chest: 46” around

Waist: 42” around

Overall length: 30 1/2“, measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition: This Giorgio Armani tuxedo jacket is in very good condition - except for two tiny thread pulls at the right front side (see last close-up photo), there is no pronounced wear, tear, soiling or staining, this Giorgio Armani tuxedo jacket looks to have seen little use and was well stored.
