From the 1970s here's an off-white dinner jacket sold by “Jean Dupré The Man’s Shop Monte Carlo”. The jacket has medium width peaked lapels and is made in a six button double breasted style. The shoulders of the jacket are padded the sleeves have three buttons at either cuff. There is a flapped pocket at either side and a pocket at the left chest. The jacket has a 11” vent at the back and is fully lined with an off-white rayon fabric. It has two interior pockets, two larger and two small pockets.
Fabric: One label reads 100% viscose while another reads Viscose minimum 85%. The fabric has a vertical ribbing throughout
Sizing: Size 52 is indicated, but this is a French sizing, which normally should be equivalent to a size 42, although I think that it is closer to a size 38/40 - please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior (please take the cut of the garment into consideration):
Shoulders: 16 1/2” across shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam
Sleeves: 26” from shoulder/sleeve seam
Sleeve Inseam: 17 1/2” long
Chest: 42” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 39”, around
Overall length: 31”, measured flat
Condition: This jacket is in very good condition with no wear, tear or soiling - it may need a pressing after shipping, but this jacket has been very well cared for over the years. Please note that viscose requires special care in pressing - no direct contact with a hot iron.
This is a wonderful vintage dinner jacket from a Monte Carlo men’s shop - imagine yourself at the gaming tables after a day at the Grand Prix!
