This is a wonderful early 1970s dress made in a shirt style. The dress is made of black polyester with white decorative stitching. There is a shield shaped patch pocket applied to the left bust and the dress does up with 10 plastic buttons down the front. The stitching forms an X shaped motif on the pocket, at the bottom of the opening and on the shoulders. The dress is unlined and the labels are no longer present, but I have a feeling that the dress is of French origin, fairly nice quality for a polyester dress. It is in very good condition except for some missing white stitching at the back neckline that could be re-stitched if it bothers you.
Sizing: No size is indicated, but this should fit a small to medium size - please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the style of the dress into account:
Shoulders: 16 1/2” across shoulder seam-to-seam
Sleeves: 8” from shoulder seam
Bust: 34” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 29” around
Hips: 35” around
Overall length: 39", measured flat
This is a very cute, easy to wear style - very modern looking despite being 40+ years old...easy to wear.
