Vintage 1970s Mens Suit Grey Wool Poly Blend Sz L Unused

This is a vintage 1970s mens suit made of a wool and polyester blended fabric in an attractive tone of grey.  I don’t think that this 1970s mens suit was ever used as a size ticket is still stapled to the interior (see photo) and there is an attached alteration ticket (see photo) - if it was used, it really wasn’t used much.  The jacket to this 1970s mens suit is made with wide notched lapels and a two button closure. The shoulders are padded and there is a flapped pocket built into either side as well as a chest pocket.   The sleeves have three button cuffs.  The back has a 12” long centre vent.  The pants are unpleated (flat front) and have a leg that tapers slightly and then flares to the bottom.  The jacket is fully lined.    

Label: Simpsons.  Simpsons was a Canadian department store chain that was eventually acquired by the Hudson’s Bay Co.

Union label:  Canadian ACWA label used between 1962 and 1976

Sizing: Size 44 is indicated on this 1970s mens suit, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Jacket:

Shoulders: 18 1/2” across shoulder seam-to-seam 

Sleeves: 26” from shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam: 17”

Chest: 48” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 44”

Overall length: 31“

Pants:

Waist: 42”-43” around 

Leg Inseam: 31 1/2” long - 3” extra fabric inside of the cuff

Overall length: 42”

Cuff:  22” around

Condition:  This 1970s mens suit is in excellent condition with no wear, tear, soiling or odour - as mentioned, I don’t think that this was ever used.
