Vintage 1970s Linen Beach Dress Long Shift with Sandal Shoe Appliques Size XL
$75.00
Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing
This is a fun 1970s era dress made of linen with wonderful sandal shoe appliqués, probably meant for wearing to the beach. The dress is made in a long, loose shift style. It is sleeveless with a scoop neckline. The front of the dress is decorated with blue stitching and has two sandal shapes sewn onto the fabric. The sandals have some dimensionality, made of a coarse woven fabric, edged in blue satin with a strap raised on the piece and decorated with a wood bead. The pocket is made in the form of a shoe bag and is also decorated with an appliqué and blue stitching. The neckline and arm openings are also edged in stitching. There is an 8” slit at either bottom side and the dress is unlined. Please note that the dress was too large for my mannequin, so was pinned back for the photos.
Label: None, but this is manufactured
Material: Linen. Nice quality flax linen in a neutral greyish beige tone
Sizing: No size is indicated, but according to my measurements, this should fit an extra large size, depending on preference for looseness - please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 18” across the top
Bust: 48” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 48” around
Hips: 52”
Length: 46”, measured flat
Condition: It is in very good condition with no wear, tear, holes or stains - one of the sandals has a tiny fray area to the side, very minor. Otherwise, this piece has been very well cared for and stored over the years.
This is a fun summer dress - nice quality linen, loose and roomy!
