This is an Indian cotton dress made in India during the 1970s. The fabric is printed with a floral and foliate pattern in a lovely tone of violet/lavender, blue and red against a cream coloured background. The dress has a quilted bib at the centre bodice delineated with blue satin piping and a narrow standing Asian style collar. The sleeves are made in a full length with narrow cuffs that are also delineated by blue satin piping. There are box pleats below the bib, which give the body of the dress volume. The dress is made of 100% cotton - the cotton is woven in a lightweight, not gauzy, weave, but is still great for summer wear. The dress is unlined and loose fitting - there are no closures, so this simply goes over one’s head.
Label: Southern Comforts. This is one of a plethora of private brands that sprung up during the Indian import craze of the 70s.
Size: Size S is indicated, and although this should fit a small size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the style of the dress into account:

Sleeves: 24 1/2” long from the shoulder/sleeve seam
Sleeve inseam: 19”
Bust: 36” around, taken under the armpits
