Vintage 1970s Cashmere & Wool Overcoat Mens Coat Tescosa Made in Italy Size M
Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing
This is a vintage 1970s mens wool and cashmere blended overcoat made in camel colour. It is made in a quasi-military style with wide rounded collar and notched lapels,, padded shoulders, eight button double breasted closure plus a button under either collar, a vertical pocket built into either side and a 19’’ kick vent at the back. The coat is fully lined in a satin fabric that is woven with an abstract pattern. The fabric has a beautiful nappe (finish), kind of like a ripple patterned high pile.
Label: Confezioni Tescosa Made in Italy / Wool and Cashmere.
Retailer label: Rive Gauche Monsieur Montreal. I believe that this was an exclusive men’s clothing boutique located in downtown Montreal, popular during the 1960s and 70s.
Sizing: There is no size label, and although this should fit a medium to smaller large size (US 40-42) depending on preference for fit and whether you want to wear a suit jacket underneath, please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the thickness of the fabric into account:
Shoulders: 18” across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam
Sleeves: 26” from the shoulder seam
Sleeve Inseam: 16”
Chest: 46” around
Waist: 42” around
Hips: 48” around
Length: 44 1/2”, measured flat
Condition: It is in very good condition with minor wear to the finish along the edges and a few spots (see last two close-up photos). Otherwise, no tear, stains or odours - this coat looks to have seen moderate use and was well stored and cared for over the years.
Excellent quality Italian styling…..this was very fashionable during the 1970s and was originally an expensive coat!
