Vintage 1970 Men’s Suit Hand Tailored and Dated Size Small

This is a hand tailored vintage 1970 men’s suit, dated August 24, 1970, and made by Tailleur L. Bécotte of Victoriaville, Quebec. The suit is made in a blended 1970blue and black fabric with light blue pinstripes, and has padded shoulders, a jetted chest pocket, a three-button front, high set narrow notched lapels, and jetted lower pockets. The jacket is half-lined in a striped burgundy satin fabric. The flat-front trousers have a straight leg, side pockets, and a 2 1/2" hem allowance for possible lengthening.

Sizing:  There is no size label as this was hand measured and tailored, and although it should fit a US size 36, please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Jacket:

Shoulders: 17” seam to seam

Sleeves: 24”

Sleeve inseam: 16 1/2”

Chest: 40”

Waist: 36”

Length: 27 1/2” (from back neck seam)

Pants:

Waist: 33”

Inseam: 28 1/2” (extra 2 1/2” hem allowance)

Total length: 37 1/2”

Estimated modern size: Men’s 38–40 Regular

Condition: In very good condition — clean and well preserved with no stains, holes, or other defects, but the hem of the left leg cuff.

This is a nice example of a hand tailored vintage 1970 men’s suit - great if it fits!
