This is a 100% pure cashmere pullover sweater made in Scotland - the labels are missing, but it comes from a large personal collection of other Scottish cashmere sweaters, all with Ballantyne and Pringle labels in them. Given the quality and the intarsia pansy detailing, this was probably made by Pringle. The pansy flowers are in colours of yellow, gold, green, white, and red against a solid blue background colour. The sweater has long sleeves and a small collar, short V neckline with a seven button closure. It is unlined and the collar, opening edge, cuffs and bottom are ribbed. The cashmere is ultra soft and of excellent quality.
Sizing: No size is indicated, and although the lady from whom this was acquired normally wore a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 16” across, seam to seam
Sleeves: 24” from the shoulder seam
Sleeve inseam: 17”
Bust: 40” around, taken under the arms
Bottom: 30” around, unstretched, stretches out to 38” max - it has a ribbed bottom
Overall length: 23”, measured flat
Condition: It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, holes or other defect. I have laundered the item, so it is ready to wear.
This is a lovely quality cashmere sweater - gorgeous pansies, sure to be noticed!
