Vintage 1960s Mod Wool Cape Lou Ritchie for Rainmaster Canada Size S

This is a very nice quality vintage 60s navy blue wool cape featuring a mod mid-60s look.  The wool is of a heavier weight and is fully lined in violet purple satin acetate.  The cape has a wide collar that can be worn down or up to afford extra protection to the face.  It does up with a metal zipper down the front with a button and tab at the neckline - the button is missing and I’ve decided not to replace it as you can choose a button to your liking. The cape has two large slits to allow the arms to emerge from under the cape.  There is a pocket at either side, decorated with stitching and diagonally flapped with a belt buckle.

Label: Rain Master by Lou Ritchie Made in Canada.   Rain Master hired Marielle Fleury in 1969 to design their line under her name, so this pre-dates 1969. 

Sizing: There is no size label, but this should fit a range of small to maybe medium sizes.  Please note the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders: 17” across approximated

Length: 44” down the back from the neck

Bust: 44” around, must accommodate arms

Hips: 54” - meant to hang loosely

Hemline:  76” around

Condition:  It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear or stains - there is a tiny nappe (finish) wear spot to the upper left next to the opening (see last close-up photo) as well as a couple of other wear spots to the lower left.  Price has been adjusted to reflect this.  In addition, there is some slight discolouration to the lining.  Otherwise, this cape is in very good condition and should see many more years of use.

This is a very nice quality cape, great 60s look,….wonderful piece for fall weather, sure to provide warmth and protection!
