This is a very nice quality white dinner jacket made in summer weigh blended fabric. The jacket is made with a shawl collar, slightly padded shoulders, single button closure, two button cuffs, flapped pocket at either side and a pocket at the left chest. It was union made in Canada and hand fitted by a tailor.
Label: Hand Tailored by Elegant Tailors Gus Dimitriadis Toronto
Union label: ACWA union label used between 1962 and 1976
Colour: White. Really a pure white, not cream white like many of these dinner jackets
Fabric: There is no content label, however, this is a synthetic blended fabric, maybe a wool and rayon or cotton and rayon blend. Lightweight, meant for summer use, has a very nice wrinkle free appearance.
Sizing: Size 40 regular is indicated on the label on the interior pocket - my husband, who is a size 42, tried it on and although he got in on, it was snug. Please rely on the following measurements for fit (compare measurement with a similar jacket that you presently own or to your own body measurements, taking the cut of the garment into account):
Shoulders: 19” across from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam
Sleeves: 25 1/2” from the shoulder/sleeve seam
Sleeve inseam: 16 3/4”
Chest: 46” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 42” around
Overall length: 30 1/2”, measured flat
Condition: It is in very clean condition with no wear, tear, or soiling/staining - this jacket looks to have seen very little use and has been well cared for over the years.
This is a sharp looking jacket - great for your next formal dinner!
