From the 60s here's a vintage wool coat made by Lanvin Paris. The coat is made in a bright chartreuse toned yellow colored thick wool, excellent quality. It has high set, fairly wide, notched lapels and is made in a double breasted style, with two rows of 6 buttons. There are 5 buttonholes, two of the buttons being purely decorative and visible only when the collar is lifted. It has a large flapped square patch pocket applied to either lower side and the sleeves have button down tie belts at the cuffs. The buttons are painted white and, I believe, are leather. The back of the coat has a nicely detailed center vent at the bottom. The coat is fully lined in chartreuse yellow acetate.
Label: Lanvin Boutique Paris Made in France
Fabric: Wool, thick and suitable for winter wear.
Sizing: No size is indicated, but this should fit a small size, especially if you want to wear a sweater or suit underneath - please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the thickness of the wool into account:
Shoulders: 16” / Sleeves: 23” / Sleeve inseam: 16 1/2” Bust: 36” / Waist: 34” / Hips: 38” Length: 38”, measured flat
Condition: The coat is in very good condition with the exception of a light stain below the bottom right button (see last close-up photo). This stain is not visible when the coat is buttoned up. I’ve just had the coat dry cleaned, but I don’t think that the dry cleaner tried to work the stain - perhaps another cleaner might be able to eliminate it. In addition, there is a pinhole sized hole on the left cuff belt (see 2nd to last close-up photo), but this is rather minor. Also, a small hole at the hemline of the lining. Finally, the buttons have some wear to the white color, but this is from normal use. Otherwise, the coat is very clean and without other wear - this looks to have seen little use and was well kept over the years.
This is a striking Lanvin coat in a fabulous color!
