This is a wonderful men’s overcoat made in a striking checked herringbone tweed wool. The coat is made in a 60s “dandy” style, wide collar and lapels, six button double breasted front, built-in side pockets with flaps, no turned cuffs, no waist seam, a faux belt at the back and a long single back vent almost from the waist to the hemline. The sleeves have a single button at the cuff. There is a single interior pocket built into the lining. The herringbone tweed wool is woven in tones of grey, black, tan and red. The interior is fully lined in grey satin rayon. It is meant for cool weather, but probably not very cold weather, unless you are layering.
Age: late 1960s due to the style and silhouette of the coat.
Retailer label: Stand Montreal, Canada rendered in a rather mod style
Sizing: There is no size label, and although this should fit a size 40/42 short depending on if you wear a jacket underneath, please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the thickness of the fabric into account:
Shoulders: 19 1/2” across, from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam
Sleeves: 23” from the sleeve seam
Sleeve Inseam: 15”
Chest: 46” around
Waist: 42” around

Length: 38”, measured flat

This is a nice example of 60s dandy fashion - very natty!
