This is an eye popping men’s suit made in a very shiny gold green fabric with orange and bright green pinstripes, each stripe with a charcoal shadow. The jacket has high set lapels and three button front. The shoulders of the jacket are padded and the lapels are, as mentioned, fairly narrow and high-set - this is a lapel style typical of the 1963-1965 period that was seen used by British rock groups during the “British Invasion”. There is a flapped pocket at either side, but you can stick the flaps inside the pocket for a jetted pocket look - there is also a pocket at the left chest. The jacket has an 10” centre vent at the back and is half lined with a bronze coloured striped satin fabric. It has two interior pockets. The pants have a flat front (no pleats) and a slightly tapered leg with no turned cuff at the bottom.
Label: Dessiné Par Cloutier Clothing Montreal.
Material: Probably worsted wool, nice quality with a rich looking appearance
Sizing: No size is indicated, but this should fit a medium size, about a size 40 - please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior (please take the thickness of the fabric and the cut of the suit into consideration):
Shoulders: 18 1/2” across shoulder seam-to-seam
Sleeves: 24” from shoulder seam
Sleeve Inseam: 16 1/2” long
Chest: 44” around, taken under the arms
Overall length: 29 1/2“
Leg Inseam: 26 1/2” - there is a 2” cuff should you require a little more length
Condition: This suit is in very clean condition but the jacket has a small tear and scuff at the upper right back (see last close-up photo). You could get this invisibly mending or just live with it. Otherwise, the suit has no wear, tear, stains or odors - it looks like this suit saw little or no use and was very well kept over the years.
This suit looks spectacular under the lights - very shiny and reflective, great stage suit! Sold "as is"......
