This is a vintage 1960s black velvet coat made by William Frohman. The coat has a Nehru collar, five button closure and a flapped faux pocket at either side. The buttons are quite large, made of black plastic textured to look like cloth with black rhinestones around the periphery, very nice. The coat is fully lined in coral pink satin fabric. The coat would provide warmth in a colder climate although it isn’t meant for harsh winter use.
Label: William Frohman. Frohman was a Toronto based coat manufacturer
Material: Cotton velvet, very nice quality
Sizing: There is no size label, and although this should fit a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit (please take the style of the coat and thickness of the fabric into consideration):
Shoulders: 17” across from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam
Sleeves: 24” long
Sleeve inseam: 17”
Bust: 38” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 33” around
Hips: 38” around
Overall length: 41", measured flat
Condition: It is in very good condition with the exception of a bit of matting/wear to the elbows of the sleeves - it looks a little lighter in colour in those areas. Otherwise, the coat has no other noted wear, tear, staining or odour.
This is an easy to wear velvet coat - nice 60s styling!
