This is a wonderful lavender or violet coloured straw half-hat that was sold at Simpson’s, which was probably Canada’s second largest department store chain, after Eaton’s.  It has a brim that is “pulled back” at the front.  The hat is decorated overall with what look like cleft violets, very pretty, along with a rosebud and a larger pink flower.  The label reads “Simpson’s 22” - the style of the Simpson’s logo was used prior to 1957, and I guess that the 22 is the size.  This hat should be worn on the back of the head and should fit a medium to a smaller large size.  It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear.  Pretty Easter time colour - cute hat!
