Vintage 1950s Quebec Agate Slab Slice Ste Flavie Gaspe 7

Brand Etsy

This is an agate slab with a label on its underside that reads Centre de lAgate et LArtisanat Ste. Flavie. Quebec. there is an additional label that is hand written with 4295 FA8 3. The labels look to me to date to the 1950s or 60s/. Ste Flavie is a village on the St Lawrence that is considered to be the gateway to the Gasp. I assume that this agate was probably sourced in the Gasp, perhaps from the Mont Lyall mine. This slab measures 5 7/8 by 7 with a thickness of 3/4. It weighs 2 lbs and 5 oz. It is in very good condition.
Nice colours of grey, brown and crystallized white.attractive piece of agate!
