Vintage 1950s Party Dress Yellow Flocked White Organdy Sz M

$150.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a wonderful 1950s party dress made of yellow floral rose flocked white synthetic organdy over yellow taffeta.  This 1950s party dress has a matching shrug jacket and belt.  It is sleeveless with a squared neckline and dropped waist - the skirt is gathered in tucks around the dropped waistline so that it flares out to an ankle length.  The dress was photographed with a crinoline - the use of a crinoline creates a fuller look although it’s not absolutely necessary.  The dress closes with a metal zipper down the left side.

Fabric:  There is no content label, but the organdy is synthetic, maybe nylon or some other synthetic, while the taffeta appears to be acetate.

Label: There had been a label on the back of the bolero, but it was cut away by the original owner.  This was a common practice as it could be irritating to keep the label on the back of the neck.

Colour: White and yellow, although the white takes on the yellow cast of the underskirt - ignore the greyish shadows in the photos.

Sizing:  No size is indicated, and although this should fit a medium size, please note the following measurements for fit:

Bust:  37”

Waist:  28”-29”

Dropped waist:  34”

Hips:  Full - meant to fall loosely/flare out

Length:  46”, measured flat from the top to the hemline

Condition:  This 1950s party dress is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odour.

This is a lovely 1950s party dress - pretty style and decoration!
