This is a pair of 1950s vintage men’s “Tootal” knit socks that were never used.  The socks are made of “70% Epilox brand non-felting wool blended with 15% nylon” - there is an extra 15% nylon reinforcement in the foot.  All of this is printed in white on each sock along with the size 11 and “Tootal Broadhurst Lee Co. Ltd. England”.  The original Eaton’s cardboard price tag is still pinned onto the pair - this cost $1 during the 1950s.  The original bill was with the socks, which had been stored in the original tissue paper - the original owner bought six pairs, for a total of $6.  The socks are in a maroon toned colour.

They are in excellent condition because they weren’t used and were well stored over the years. 

Amazingly, the original owner never used these and kept them stored for the last 60 plus years.

Great pair of collectible socks - unlikely to see too many of these kicking around…..
